In the Age of AI, Where Do We Stand—and Which Path Will We Choose?
AI is no longer a story about the distant future.
But that doesn’t mean the world is collapsing right now.
This change is not an explosion—it’s closer to an orbit.
Like in movies where the moon is heading toward Earth,
the sky still looks calm, but the direction has already been set.
In the past, a phrase like this sounded reasonable:
“Major shifts don’t happen overnight.”
And it was true. Technology spread slowly, and organizational and human transitions were always bottlenecks.
So even late responses could somehow adapt in the end.
But now, with AI in the picture, no one can confidently say that assumption still holds.
This is no longer a question of speed, but of acceleration.
Why We Use the Word “Weapon”
Calling AI a “weapon” rather than a “tool” is not an exaggeration.
The things you cannot outsource have always been the things tied directly to the fate of individuals and organizations.
Outsourcing AI is not simply about handing over code or data.
It means transferring decision criteria, patterns of failure, and the way an organization thinks—
something with an impact comparable to losing human capital.
Add security concerns to that,
and as technology becomes increasingly standardized, external dependence erodes differentiation.
Which leaves us with one final question:
“Can we trust big tech companies enough
to entrust them with our very decision-making structures?”
That Doesn’t Mean Everyone Must Build Their Own AI
To be blunt,
there’s a high chance that AI infrastructure will ultimately be dominated by a small number of big tech companies—the apex predators of the ecosystem.
This is close to an unavoidable structural outcome.
That’s why the starting point of any strategy is simple.
If you believe you can develop AI yourself, that is the best answer.
But most people and organizations cannot.
If so, the answer becomes clear.
Secure the closest attainable objectives first,
and move up level by level.
This isn’t a short sprint—it’s closer to level design in a game.
Each stage offers opportunities to advance,
and if you miss them, the next level does not open automatically.
The Problem Is Not Capability, but Position
The real danger in the AI era is not failure.
The true risk is remaining in areas that have already begun to degrade.
Many traditional tasks weren’t impossible because of lack of skill,
but because they took too much time to be practical.
AI didn’t replace ability—it removed the barrier of time.
So the questions now change to these:
Where am I standing right now?
What abilities can I actually bring to bear?
Where should I apply them in order to survive?
This is not a technology problem.
It’s a positioning problem.
Adaptation Deserves Respect—But Survival Requires Strategy
Choosing to live in step with the flow of the times deserves respect.
Not everyone needs to be a strategist,
and not everyone wants to be a hero who saves everyone.
What’s interesting is this:
AI is useful when you move strategically,
and its benefits are just as available when you choose to simply adapt and go with the flow.
AI does not choose a direction for you.
It only amplifies the consequences of the direction you choose.
So one thing must be made clear.
Adaptation is an attitude.
The moment you choose survival, you enter the realm of strategy.
Humanity Has Survived Even Late Choices
Looking back at history, humanity has always chosen late.
And yet, it has survived.
But the process was never easy.
It wasn’t a question of possibility,
but of how much suffering it took to get through.
So the most important question right now is this:
Which path do I truly want to take?
